Klebemanschette hatte nicht funktioniert. Sie ließ sich auch nicht zuschneiden, da sie an der dünnen Durchmesserseite nur entweder zu dick oder zu dünn zuschneidbar war. Habe letztendlich eine weitere AW gekauft, die dann aber passte.
Since your last post was about deciding between the options, here's how I'd weigh them. The glue-on or split boot is the quick route, but on an outer joint it's the weak point. Grease and dirt get in at the seam, and the boot usually fails again sooner than a proper closed one.
If the outer joint is still fine (no clicking when turning on full lock), I'd just do it properly. Knock the joint head off, clean out the old grease, fit an OEM boot with fresh grease and new clamps, and press the joint back on with a new circlip. It's messier than the universal boot, but it's maybe an hour per side and the result lasts.
If the joint already clicks or has play, replace the whole shaft instead and skip the boot altogether.
